One Night in Bei Jing
words & music: Keith Scott © 2007
The clock is ticking on the wall beside the photo that we took in BeiHai
And standing on the piano is the one we took in the restaurant in Nanning
But there’s no photos can compare with the memories that we share.
Of two short days, and one short night, in the city where time stood still.
One night in Beijing, I can see by the look on your face
You remember the time and the place very well
All the world was a dream and the stars were a magical sight
And the fire that we shared on that night
will burn in our hearts for ever and ever more
A thousand miles away I stand upon the shore and watch the waves go by
The light is fading slowly and the sky has turned a deeper shade of gold.
I dream of a time that I once knew, and then I turn and smile to you
I hold you close but in your heart you’re back where it all began.
One night in Beijing, I can see by the look on your face
You remember the time and the place very well
All the world was a dream and the stars were a magical sight
And the fire that we shared on that night
will burn in our hearts for ever and ever more
One night in Beijing, I can see by the look on your face
You remember the time and the place very well
All the world was a dream and the stars were a magical sight
And the fire that we shared on that night
will burn in our hearts for ever and ever more
